I have the current situation:
two domains, one org. exchange 5.5 sp4. Multiple sites, some connected via
IMS Connected Site with directory replication connection over vpn. At
present the vpn only allows smtp traffic. Each side can control only their
own mailboxes (which is fine).

Did I misread--if the early adopter site keeps one 5.5 server, and keeps
an ADC to that, and that 5.5 server keeps a directory
We have the following setup using E5.5:
1 org, 2 countries. Each has their own NT domain (no trust), connected over
IMS Connected site/Directory replication connectors. One our side,
hub/spoke design with the IMS in the hub, address space set for * with a
cost of 1. Examining the routing
On one of my e2k (sp3) servers, Mailbox Manager simply stopped processing
due to an error. Turning up logging on the System attendant just yields
one event, ID 9209 from the SA,
Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager was interrupted before
processing was complete - error no = An invalid

mail recipient as an attachment. File is not large, can be under 10 kb;
names resolve from the AD, clicks on SEND, nothing happens.
