Our management suggested that we should block certain file types by Grouping (eg only Mgr members can receive JPEG and JIF files and all others cannot). Can this be done??? With appropriate software, yes. Selected antivirus or content management software, though some packages won't give you selectability by user. Have you looked back in the archives? I believe this has been beaten to death on occasion. Note, jpeg and gif extensions are the least of most folks' worries. Be worried about .exe, .scr, and at least a dozen or so others. Hi Carine. No, it can not be done server-side without third party applications, such as Antigen from www.sybari.com. However, client security can be increased to keep attachents off of the desktops. We use NEMX as an Exchange add-on for attachment, content, subject, originator, etc filtering... plus MAPS filtering.. www.nemx.com Unfortunately it can take a chunk of processor power on a small server... depending on the number of rules. I look forward to replacing our PII350 next month.
