I havent. But if i had the problems you are experiencing i would uninstall
it and use NTBACKUP instead. You seem to have pretty much found the cause of
your problem. Now do something about it.

Does it do this everytime you run the backup job through Backup Exec, what
happens if you run the job manually. Any errors or comments in the Backup
Exec job log? Are you doing anything else at the same time as backup, batch
jobs, updtaes, anti-virus? Backup Exec 8.0 can be updated to
Try just backing up the IS and the directory. Don't run the backup on
anything else - no drives, and have you made sure you have excluded the swap
file from the backup? Anyway, try a real Exchange-only backup and then see
if it locks up.
