I am trying to move my dial-up connections over the Mandrake box. Currently
using Win 2K for multi-link ppp connection. Two USR modems dial in for 112K.
Has anyone done something similar under Mandrake or Linux in general? Can you

May not apply, but saw some problems with slow transfer rates from
3c905c cards in dell machines under redhat 6.2 at work (caused problems
with timeouts on nis, automounts etc. - was a lot of "slot allocation"
errors in /var/log/message). A kernel upgrade from 2.2.14 to 2.2.19

My guess is that you are not starting ssh with the -X flag. This X11
forwarding.
Possible other problems, the DISPLAY environment variable is not
correctly set (although it should be in an xterm). If this is the case,

This is odd; here is my setup: We have an HP IIIsi printer on a
machine. I have KDE finally set up right so KMAIL would print
to it. However, when it prints, the text is printed faintly, the gray
background is printed, so it's a mess. Any ideas how to get a decent

On my computer this error appears after a dummy write (maybe the problem
was fixating cdrom in this mode).
Try rebooting your computer and burning a cd without testing dummy write
first.

Use DrakFont to uninstall any font you add.
In mandrake 8, DrakFont has a problem with windows fonts.
You must use MandrakeUpdate to update it.
Then reimport windows fonts with strong verification.
