I would like to log the uptime of our systems, just I cannot see into the
future to expect when a system crashes so an aproach that logs, like 1 time
per hour should do it.
I guess you could run a crontab script that just cat's the uptime output into

problems. This is what we have done.
Configured the kernel with make menuconfig.
Configured ReiserFS, RamDisk and Dac960 support as modules.
Compiled, installed kernel.

No joke. I installed the kernel-2.4.6-5mdk kernel from cooker, and my
iptables script wouldn't work. Then I installed the iptables rpm and it did.
There is both an iptables and an ipchains rpm.
