Hi,
I'm using the pdf printer in Samba. Mandrake has a
pdf printer setup already in the Samba.
It works great for any windows users on our network.
They just select the pdf printer and print and the pdf
file is put in their home folder.

All had to do was change the workgroup name in the
default samba.conf file and add the shared directories
restart samba and it work!
Great job Mandrake.

I installed Mandrake 8.2 with Xfree on this system
with no problems.
I checked the md5 sums and they are correct.
The only thing I can think of is that Via C3 CPUs
don't like i686 optimization. They need to use i586.
The error message pops up during the installation of
the Xfree rpm. If I sw
Does anybody know if this has been fixed in the RC1
release?
When trying to install Beta4 I get an error message
saying that XFree86 is a bad package.
I've tried downloading the ISO for CD#1 from 2
different mirrors and I get the same error message.
8.2 installed fine on my machine.

I ran a checksum program (windows version) and it said
it matched for Beta 4 cd #1.
I also had downloaded a beta 3 iso and tried it this
weekend and it had the same error Bad Package for
Xfree.

I found the solution on deja.
To install 8.2 on the Shuttle FV25 you need to first
disable IDE Prefech in the BIOS setup.
After I did that 8.2 installed without any problems.
I don't know why the IDE prefech setting was causing
the install to lockup.

I've noticed that problem too. I think its because
the default paper size is "A4" instead of "Letter".
Try switching to Letter in the print dialog box before
clicking ok to print.

When I print with Konqueror and Kmail the default is A4. How do I switch the
default to Letter? I looked and looked, but I didn't see how, so I must be
overlooking something too simple.
Thanks,
Robert
You need to add the line vga=788 to your lilo.conf file and then run
/sbin/lilo
The when you reboot it should run Aurora. See my example of my lilo.conf
file below.
image=/boot/vmlinuz
label=linux
root=/dev/hda5
append=" hdd=ide-scsi hdc=ide-floppy"
vga=788
