sufficient bandwidth, but downloads are slowed down by the interlying network.

several hosts before it reaches its destination, and if those

Actually, I found at least with a dialup with Win95 and Netscape, downloading
Nt is more stable. And it supports netscape drag'n'drop.

No way! that stuff is "spyware" and poison to an operating system. In
linux we use gFTP, IglooFTP-PRO, ncFTP, so and so forth. gFTP supports
resume and append, and most FTP server do
