Taking a first-century (named in his honour!) rabbi as a symbol of The One Self
is fine - as long as you realise that he is only one symbol among many others.
The problem that Christianity faces is its designation of Jesus as the
one-and-only symbol.
It's tricky! As there is only a unique
I was being facetious, although not entirely.I wouldn't know where to begin. I
do get burnt out on all the TM speak though. The holier than thou attitudes etc
etc. I could go on and on but what's the use. I just prefer to keep my distance
and my sanity.

I went to his Ashram(cave) in October of '73 and met him.

I agree with Ollie here about the essential practice but then also that despite
some aversions to the TM movement the group meditating here in Fairfield as a
collective meditation is a particularly nice activated place to meditate.

By the science and we know this by experience too, TM’ers should show up.

Actually that is good, stop acting like Maharishi.
But what would the resolution be and how would the memo read? Vision the text.
TM is now a corporation with Boards and process and not necessarily the
theocratic autocracy that it once was. What would you take to the Board(s) to

I've taken to believe that baby boomers grew up on fast food and TV
dinners (the trends of the 50's and 60's) and thus unlike the prior
generation who had to survive the Great Depression and World War II
wound up eating less whole food. There has been this popular belief
that boomers would
Though look closer at this recent list someone provided of meditators who have
passed. It has a lot of the WW II and post-war cohort generation on it now,
as would be expected of age 70 and 80+ year older meditators. The earlier
lists include more of TM boomers I and II who have passed away.
The aversion, could it be reconciled? What would the TMO movement have to do
to remediate the situation, for you?

"Chuck Norris vs Communism" sounds like a movie right up Mike's alley
but it is a bit more nuanced than that. I watched it last night on
Netflix where it was added yesterday. But it apparently is available on
PBS too. Anyway it's about how VCRs lead to the downfall of communism
in Romania.

This ‘aversion’ to being around the movement, how deep is the aversion?

John., there is an older tradition among Jews that said Messiah would appear
twice. The first time as the suffering servant(Isaiah 53), coming as a lamb to
take away the sins of the world, would not be recognized and second time to

John your point is well taken, however I think being *born again* in this case
means to take spiritual initiation. To be set on the path of spiritual growth.

I could afford it! However , I get stressed -out being in a TMO environment.
Just listening to TM speak winds me up.

We need not to get too defensive about this. In a Natural mortality like most
any general population of peoples TM’ers have been dying all along throughout
their decades. Mortality rates generally are slow and seemingly imperceptible
early-on up through middle years.
