True, but a lot of the flag waving by those at the top, in favor of *the definitive war* often deteriorates into a grab for resources, and another chance for weapons testing, and an inflaming of a conflict. If any politician meant to solve the problem, they would. I sort of like the hands-off, but airstrikes if necessary, approach. It appears to have caused a shift in at least the public face of ISIS, now letting hostages go, vs. continuing with horrors. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, mdixon.6569@... wrote : Bingo! I'm not exactly sure who's saying *what* around here either. However, I don't expect anything significant to happen with ISIS until we have a president that will listen to his military scientists, his top generals. As long as we have a *community organizer* ignoring the best advice of military scientist and advising them what they can do, based on his political agenda, the generals will have their hands tied and will, most likely, have limited success at best, dragging this conflict out for an indefinite length of time and at *who knows what cost*. Nobody wants to end up at the gates of hell. Just send them (ISIS) there. BTW only an idiot telegraphs to his enemies what he will and will not do, unless he's a liar. Then nothing he says can be believed. Richard, Whether you like it or not, the US is at war with another group. ISIS must be taken out of Iraq first before any of the other parts in the plan can be implemented. Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Syrian Rebels, IS in a Pact
Actually it would be easier for the Iraqi forces to retake the towns that the ISIS militants have occupied after the US bombs the ISIS equipment, weapons and stronghold. However, it's another scenario in Syria itself. At this time, I would assume Assad's forces are more likely to finish the job after the US bombs the ISIS stronghold, equipment and weapons. If they don't, the so-called friendly militants would take control and Assad's power will more likely be degraded.
