Although I've been an initiator since '74 and a governor and MIU
grad and all that, I haven't, unlike you, ever been full time in the
TMO and devoted wads of my best years to it. Nevertheless, it always
used to pain me to see what had become of the TMO.

Now I am happy to report that I've gotten to a space mush as you
describe above: if it goes belly up, it's sad but I ain't going to
lose sleep over it.  I have come to terms with it all and feel much
more relaxed about it.

As to the *exact* mechanics of how he did this,
I have no clue. I am without clue. As to what
it was like being in the room and having it done
to you, it was pretty much *all* subtle string-
pulling.

It really didn't matter what was going on on the
surface. He could be completely silent and do this
shit. He could be giving a lecture -- that was
later distributed for publication, it was that
coherent -- and do this at the same time. It was
a total mindfuck.

I don't talk about the dude much here, and really
don't care to, but a friend from that trip died
recently and I've been thinking about it. Whatever
Rama was, it was a trip worth taking, a journey I
won't ever regret one step of.

For that matter, so was Maharishi.

I use it as the basis for my humor, and once people catch on, it
creates a lot of laughter- a most recent example at work involved a
wizard of oz calendar, with me suggesting myself as the flying
monkey to someone else's wicked witch of the west...

How did he do this? Just by talking, or was there some subtle string-pulling
going on?

I just enjoy the delightful juxtaposition between the lunacy of it
all and the seriousness with which it is carried out- as if the
rajas and ministers have a betting pool going behind the scenes
about who can do the craziest thing in public, and still keep a
straight face...

Go figure indeed.

I mentioned recently the experience of having
Rama do his "So you think you have a self...and
only one?" number on you. It was pretty fuckin'
transformative.

You'd be sittin' there, thinkin' that you had
everything all scoped out and UNDERSTOOD IT ALL,
and he'd *notice* that, and demonstrate that you
didn't. You'd flip from self to self to self to
self to godknowswhat 20-30 times in an hour,
faster if you were with him in the desert. It
was the mindfuck of all mindfucks. You came in
the door thinking you had a self, and you left
having seen, been, and lived the full incarnations
of hundreds of selves, all of them you, all of
them equally illusory.

In other words, I identify with being able to
see the same situation many ways, all of them
equally valid. It's a bitch trying to explain
this to people, donchafind?  :-)

I have no regrets. The whole thing can become wildly successful or go
belly-up tomorrow. I'd prefer the former, but would merely shrug my
shoulders if the latter came to pass.

I would suggest to you, Spare Egg, that that is small comfort to the
likes of Rick Archer who devoted decades of full-time energy to this
Movement.

Try googling "moon in gemini":

It's all really wishful thinking on my part.  I'm trying to find
some rhyme or reason for the madness that a once-wonderful
organisation has become.

He wouldn't have to "channel" Gilliam as he is alive and well and
directing great films (well, not sincd "12 Monkeys" but, hey, that
and "Fisher King" are simply classics).

Beats the shit out of me, man. I'm an absolute
astrological tyro, caring about it only when someone
tells me something about myself that I can identify
with and/or laugh at. I guess what I was laughing at
in your comment was that with I've been told about the
sometimes flip/flop nature of the Gemini mind, I could
imagine the second accidental post mystically having the
exact opposite point of view of the first one. :-)

Except that bagpipes are the MOST technically difficult instrument to play, period. I'm not

It's a test for those "yes" men around him...reverse Darwinism...the
TMO has become so nutty that after MMY drops the body, the nutcases
around him will have become habituated to dealing with this silly
fantasy world that they have supported all these years and they
will, naturally, have no talents to run -- and therefore -- muck up

...and then once he's had the fun of putting the hats on and making
a big deal out of it and wasting precious human and monetary
resources on these whims, he drops it and goes on to another equally
irrational scheme, gets all excited about that one and the whole

Just saw this, and found it fascinating, icky, boring, and comical.

The guy doing the narration sounds so robotic and somewhat
retarded...a few cans short of a six-
pack, ...as...if...he...can't...think...very...quickly. And what is
that large phallic tower doing in the background of every scene?
Yipes!...Looks like the Stratosphere from Vegas. Does it contain
Raam slot machines and roulette tables, or what?

And the weird juxtaposition of the pundits, Gods, soccer players,
and the band members in starry shirts were all vaguely reminiscent
of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie, only less coherent. Was this
produced in Amsterdam perhaps? wink wink, nudge nudge...

The one animation I DID like was the brief one of the earth rotating
on a lotus, showered with rose petals. Would've liked to see more of
that kind of thing.

Overall, pretty goofy stuff- a genuine curiosity-

Even back in Rishikesh we was putting funny hats on Mia Farrow and coming up
with impossible schemes. It's just his thing. He's wildly creative, but
seems to enjoy creativity for its own sake, rather than for some practical,
achievable outcome.

If one of you had seen this and tried to describe

mindset that would create something like this and
actually make it available to the general public.

If that's what destiny has in store for us in the Age of Sat Yuga, I'm
glad I'm suffering. It made me ill. Imagine having to listen to people
talk like the narrator talks, listen to bagpipes all day, vedic
chanting (wasn't it enough on courses?), and people who always look
happy. It reminded me of The Prisoner and The Truman Show, each as
equally artificial.
