What makes you think Barry realized his mistake? He's given no indication of
that so far. Remember, he's had several posts this very morning in which he's
continued to accuse DoctorDumbass of not being able to tell the difference

Of course it's demonizing, according to your very own special definition.

Sorry, but you can't rescue either yourself or Barry here. You're both

2014-03-24 Thread TurquoiseBee
Poor Judy. Still stuck on bullet points 1, 5, and 6 of the classic TB cult
response:

1. Shoot the messenger. Do anything you can to demonize the person or
persons making the criticisms. Your goal here is to undermine their
credibility and get other people on the forum to ignore what they're
saying.

2. Call them liars. One of the best methods of sabotaging
a critic's credibility is to pretend that he or she is a chronic liar.
The lurking TBs you're trying to appeal to would rather believe that the
critics *are* lying than believe the criticism anyway, so if you call
them liars enough times, the TBs will stop listening to them.

3. Call them crazy. Speculate about the horrible things that happened to
them in the past that made them this way. If you're of the Willytex
persuasion, you can
even make up crazy shit. All that's important is that a few fellow TBs
see them as psychologically disturbed.

4. Nitpick them into
arguing with you. Any nitpick will do, but the best is some kind of
semantic nitpick about one or two words in something they posted that
doesn't really have anything to do with the criticism you're trying to
D-E-F-L-E-C-T. If you can get them -- or other posters -- all involved
in a meaningless nitpick side argument that has nothing to do with the
original criticism, they aren't involved in the criticism. You've won.

5. Trash their supporters. Anyone who says anything positive about the
critics you're trying to silence is your enemy, and thus Fair Game.

6. Do all of these things while claiming that the criticism itself -- the
thing that has your panties in a twist and halfway up your anal canal --
isn't what you're really responding to.

Poor Barry. Does he really imagine I would have ignored his Chopra quote
mistake if there had been no pandit riot? Because otherwise his attempt to
associate them makes no sense. (He knows that; he's hoping readers won't figure
it out.)

Of course, I'd have called him on the mistake--and called Share on her
dishonest attempt to rescue him--regardless of the pandit situation and
Barry's criticisms thereof..

His problem is that he knows my comments on his criticisms and on the pandit
situation generally aren't at all a classic TB cult response. He wishes they
were, goodness knows. His agenda has always been to portray anything other than
totally negative commentary on the TMO/MMY/TM/TMers, and total agreement with
the TM critics, as cultist. I don't think many here, or of those lurking, are
fooled by that any more. He certainly doesn't believe it himself.

Finally, as I've pointed out before, my issues with Barry are issues with
Barry as a person, with his persistent dishonesty and viciousness toward
others. It's not that he's a TM critic, it's that he's a rotten human being.
And it's easy for anyone to validate my perspective simply by looking at how I
deal with other people here: TM critic Michael and TB Share, just for two
examples. I treat Michael with significant respect, because he is not dishonest
and not vicious. I treat Share with significant disrespect because she is both
(like Barry).

IOW, how I deal with people here depends on what I think of their character,
not their stance vis-a-vis TM.

Barry knows this, has known it for years. Most who have followed my posts know
it too. That's why his panties have been twisted so far up his nose lately
they've invaded his brain.

Poor Barry. Still stuck in his delusional fantasies.

Poor Judy. Still stuck on bullet points 1, 5, and 6 of the classic TB cult
response:

1. Shoot the messenger. Do anything you can to demonize the person or persons
making the criticisms. Your goal here is to undermine their credibility and get
other people on the forum to ignore what they're saying.

2. Call them liars. One of the best methods of sabotaging a critic's
credibility is to pretend that he or she is a chronic liar. The lurking TBs
you're trying to appeal to would rather believe that the critics *are* lying
than believe the criticism anyway, so if you call them liars enough times, the
TBs will stop listening to them.

3. Call them crazy. Speculate about the horrible things that happened to them
in the past that made them this way. If you're of the Willytex persuasion, you
can even make up crazy shit. All that's important is that a few fellow TBs see
them as psychologically disturbed.

4. Nitpick them into arguing with you. Any nitpick will do, but the best is
some kind of semantic nitpick about one or two words in something they posted
that doesn't really have anything to do with the criticism you're trying to
D-E-F-L-E-C-T. If you can get them -- or other posters -- all involved in a
meaningless nitpick side argument that has nothing to do with the original
criticism, they aren't involved in the criticism. You've won.

5. Trash their supporters. Anyone who says anything positive about the critics
you're trying to silence is your enemy, and thus Fair Game.

6. Do all of these things while claiming that the criticism itself -- the thing
that has your panties in a twist and halfway up your anal canal -- isn't what
you're really responding to.

contest, do you think?

Do you think Barry will acknowledge his mistake? Will he apologize to DoctorD?

Go figure indeed. Excuse me while I go throw up.

Duh! Judy, I figured all along that the longer quote was actually from Chopra

Do a text search on the page for the quote:

“You are not looking at the field in every wave and particle, the field is

the wholeness that is the body of the universe.”

So...you can make fun of the quote on its own terms if you like, but you can't

was really written by a robot program that does nothing more than string
together buzzwords and phrases from his previous tweets and writings, at
random.
Seems to me that's quite a failing in someone who claims to be enlightened.

But don't worry...I won't charge you anything for teaching you this. It's just
what those of us who can tell shit from shinola do for those who...uh...can't.
:-)

Share, you are wonderful! This post is so funny. You've run circles
around this Judy. Too bad she's not able to appreciate it. I do!

We sometimes need sideshows to relieve the stress of thinking so many
ponderous thoughts - some people just feel better when they have someone
to talk to - even if it's on a funny farm in a lounge chair.

Judy, first of all, I have no idea when turq realized his mistake.
Neither do you. Secondly, I wouldn't call it demonizing. Thirdly, why
should I correct when the Corrector is on the scene?! Fourth, I hope
you had a good vomit. Fifth, turq can be really awful a lot of the
times, but he also seems to really care about what he cares about.
Sixth, in this day and age of people like Kim Kardashian, I'd be
horrified if I won any popularity contest! Go figure!

Batgap could stand some of that wisdom!

Might I remind people of the satirical prediction I made about how True
Believers on this forum would react to all the uproar over the pundit riots? I
did this in the following FFL post. Read through it, and then think back to
what Judy, Ann, and Jim have been posting ever since. Judy's on bullet points
1, 5, and 6 currently. Can you say, D-E-F-L-E-C-T? I think you can. :-)

Are you blind, deaf and dumb? What is your def. of True Believer? How do I
qualify other than I truly believe you are the stooopidest, narrowest, idiotic
excuse for a human, let alone a man, I have ever had the good fortune to
stumble over. You have provided at least minutes of entertainment for my
temporary amusement and while you sit and preen you are, in fact, an
extraordinary fool Bawwy. Aren't you lucky to be able to count Share and Steve
as your greatest admirers? This says just about everything about you - and them.
