YES. My friend's' Lucie was in liver failure because she was not eating her normal amount of food. Her blood count numbers were off the charts. The internal med doc did ultrasound to make sure it wasn't cancer and placed an E tube. They kept her (24/7 clinic) for a few days to get her started.
