the original diarrhea that started her IBD, so she can't get it. It works well,
though.

Thanks, Kerry. Lucy does seem a lot better, knock on wood, from the

So sorry to hear Inky had a backslide, but glad he is on the mend.
What is polyflex?

thanks Michelle, Polyflex is some sort of penicillin, I think. I just know my local vets and even if I go to the D/FW area, vets seem to give an injection of this for infection. It is long acting so can't be given daily, maybe every other day..They do this even before they put them on daily doses
Michelle,
I am not a vet, but I know URI's can affect the way
cats eat. They can't small the food. Also the eye
thing could be related to a URI. My vet has used
zithromax to treat stubborn ones...it seems to work.
May you both be blessed.

Some vets don't like to use Zithromax... we have to get it at our pharmacy, but it works great! Well worth a try if nothing else has worked. Clavamox is notorious for upset tummies...

Clavamox doesn't seem like the right thing to go back to. Someone mentioned Zithromax. Is there a atomic bomb type antibiotic? Something that just knocks the crap out of the URI, but quickly? My thought is that any new thing to her system will aggravate the IBD, so if you have to introduce

My vet mentioned zithro and said it does not usually cause GI symptoms, but

Thanks, Leslie. Frank blood (bright red blood) on the outside of

intestines, which is what she has. So occasionally, when she is having a
flare-up, she gets that. Often, like this time, it is the precursor to getting

Poor Lucy, she is in a bad situation.
Can you give her any Vitamin C, or will that kill her IBD?
What about zinc? Anybody know if it's
safe to give cats zinc for URI, like they have human drops of zinc from colds to
go away faster?

Well, um, it's very old school, but what
about penicillin INJECTIONS? No GI upset at all... You can do it at home if your
vet willshow you how to do it. My dad gave our dogs penicillin shots for
weeks when they had parvo and we couldn't afford treatment when I was a kid

Prayers for Lucy. The only thing I can think of is herpes in her eyes? Are you giving her any vitamins? Vitamin C definitely upsets the stomach and causes diarrhea.take care, t[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I know she must seem like a yoyo or rollercoaster at this point, but please say prayers

He did attribute it to that. And it happens only sporadically-- once today,

Hi Michelle,
I'm relieved to hear Lucy is feeling and eating better. I did give
Gypsy Penicillin injections when her IBD was at it's worst. They didn't
seem to help her, but then nothing seemed to help her at the time.
