This was posted on the VETMED list; most of the people on it are dog
owners, so I thought I would pass this along in case somebody here can
help with answers.

oh boyI am beginning to hate the name Katrina.
I will do what ever it takes...
The viroptic is an anti-viral of some sort. If you don't get it the cats' eyes can actually rupture. It's been so long ago since I dealt with it my info. might be out of date. I had two cats with it. One was felv positive and the other was negative. At that time I had to go to an opthomologist
I have no idea, but I'm terribly sorry.
I don't know why there hasn't been a class action against Hartz.

If it's herpes they have to have viroptic. I think I remember someone putting interferon drops in the nose, but not the eyes? Either way, I don't think it will help without the viroptic

My Siamese kitty mitou and her daughter Sylvie have chronic mild herpes
infections in their eyes. I give them Lysine and a triple opthalmic
anti-biotic. It clears up right away.

Yes, this was "Pre" Lysine days
Now, Lysine is a regular part of the regiment, especially w/ the cats that

Good Luck w/ your babies.

Hi Lisa,
Interferon is used to help boost the cat's immune system. It is
terrific that your vet knew to give this to you!
It stinks you had to find us, but welcome to the list!
