Thanks. I think I will go with IV for that reason even though subQ would be easier.catatonya [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:Susan,I have heard of people using it sub -q. If the cat is cooperative though I would go iv. That is a more proven protocol.tSusan Loesch [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Wow,
Hey Michelle,
I just got your email. I hope this week finds you in
better spirits and that your weekend was a restful
one. I hope that the horrible sense of doom you have
about possibly losing your other two positives has
lessened. I agree with you. It is too hard to lose

Hey Sherry,
It sounds like the sun is shining down on your shelter

Amy,
Was bloodwork done, low potassium levels can cause back leg

Thanks, Tonya. I find it hard to understand how anyone could truly love Mr. Kitty's dad and not love Mr. Kitty. Mr. Kitty was just such a quiet, gentle old fella, not demanding or pushy. The perfect gentleman.catatonya [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:I'm so sorry Susan. That is so sad. Especially
Hey Marlene,
Reticulocytes are immature red blood cells and in the
human body (and probably kitty's too), they typically
make up 1% of all red blood cells. From what I
understand from my vet when Cricket was severely
anemic, if your kitty has a reticulocyte count, that's
good. Regenerative

Hi Marissa,
Did the vet say whether or not Jake had any
reticulocytes present in his blood? This is
important, because it tells you whether or not he is
still making red blood cells or not. I put you and
Jake on my prayer list.

Thank you Wendy. The vet did say that Jake's anemia is non-regenerative. I am still new to this so I am not hip on the terminology but am learning. Thanks for your prayers! I am taking him in to get another epogen shot today, and hopefully he will respond.

Hey Marissa,
I have heard good things about Epogen, even with
non-regenerative anemia, so I hope that he does
respond to it. I prayed for Jake today and will
continue to do so. Please keep us posted.

Hey Michelle,
Glad to hear that you have been doing well. I'd go
into animal rescue too if we could afford it. My
husband says I should be a pet detective. lol. I
loved the story about the kitty watching TV. Reminds
me of Cricket watching Ice Age. I have a photo. I

Hi,
I've just been lurking and reading for a few weeks. My little one,
Paassht, is 7-1/2 and tested positive for FeLV in 1999. She was very
healthy with nothing more than occasional URIs until September '05, when
she started losing weight. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride
since
I'd make the drive to a specialist. It is worth the peace of mind. If it
helps, I've made a 3 hour (one way) drive more times than I can count. Just
having someone in the field say what he/she thinks is important. However,
the ones I have gone to often argue for aggressive treatment. You
She is so tired...she got up to eat and drink a little. I found her
resting on the floor after she used her litterbox, so I put her back in
her bed and now she's resting there, not sleeping, just resting with her
eyes open. I called one of the vets in the phone book and we're going
to take
Kitty was diagnosed with cancer of the lungs and other organs well over a

that was because of some meds they used to sedate her. Right now she is in
the bedroom, hiding. She'll come out in a bit and tell me all about
Becca, did they do bloodwork on Paassht (love that name, by the way!) to
rule out anemia, as well? How's her breathing? Rapid or normal? Are
her gums pale? If there is, in fact, cancer within her intestinal
walls, she will have a difficult time absorbing nutrients and water

Thank you for that last part, Marylyn. I've been trying to stay upbeat
but the last two days have been hard.

So does she! I've never had another cat who loved his/her name as much
as Paassht seems to. It makes a great sound. One of the things we've
been missing is her running from anywhere in the house when called,
chirping all the way in response. Her vocabulary is almost all chirping

I know. The week plus that Kitty was really down and the weeks after
diagnosis and after follow-up x-rays months later were extremely hard. I've
been there with a number of wonderful critters. I can't say I always listen
to myself. I just hope you can. Or at least try. Even more awful
Hee, hee! I love talkative cats! We've got a couple who talk in a
kinda sing-songy voice...you can almost hear words in their voices,
like, What are you doing? or I'm here! I'm here! or Hello? Where
is everybody? :)
Becca, I'd almost place money on intestinal lymphoma...but I'm sure

Until you see the specialist, or even after you do, please check on
allergies. Kitty had the most awful diarrhea in the world. That is what
led us to specialists. My vets thought she was having trouble digesting fat
and might have pancreas problems. We changed her diet, eliminating most of
the weekend was horrible, but going to work today helped a little. thanks

Chemo and stronger steroids sometimes make them feel like themselves within
a day or two, even after feeling as bad as you describe. It may not work,
as it does not always, or it may work for a few weeks only, but it could work
for a while. You should join the lymphoma list serve at
Is the appointment this coming Wednesday? If not, I would try to get one

lymphoma, as it can grow quickly (without treatment it can kill within 2-4

I agree about seeing another vet. No bloodwork?? That's not much of a vet. Good luck and I hope the new vet gets some bloodwork and knows what to do with the results to help Paassht.tonyaBecca DuBose [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: So does she! I've never had another cat who loved his/her name as
