Kelly - I'm glad I'm not the only sucker out there ;-) The Opossum Society told me that their intelligence rates higher than dogs -- it's up there with pigs. Of course, they don't have very good street smarts. The NOP has a bumper sticker out there with a darling possum drawing that says

I don't think it's spread by horses, horses are the end host, they can't pass it on to anything else, I THINK that's what I just got out of my research just now (read it, I included the links, you decide). Possums and possibly Armadillos pass it on to horses. In cats, it's different, CATS
