Here's hoping that no other cats have FeLV. But if any do then it's good they
have the best chance and best care because they have you xxx A kitties life is
better full of love and tlc no matter how short or long that may be xxx

It really makes you wonder. I recall years ago I took my dog to a vet for itching. The vet took a skin scraping and came back saying it was ringroom. I didn't believe this because it looked nothing like that plus I was with the dog constantly and had no signs of it. I took my dog to another vet
I am SO glad Nebs is better and that you weren't victims of the bad
information you received. I hope very much that you can find a good vet.

My cat tested positive, negative. False positives are *very* common.
Some cats do get over it, and
70% of healthy adult cats can process the virus out of their systems, so a
positive test may only be an indication that a kitty has recently been
exposed because so many cats can be exposed and still get over it,
retesting is vital, and a single positive test should never be accepted as
final
Do any vets ever frequent this list? I just wondered.
Years ago I gave my Felipe fluids/sub-Q at home and he just sat there, no
problem.
PLEASE tell me what I can do to keep a jumpy fellow cooperative. I can't go
back to the vet every day where he/Malachi, 18#, lays quite sweetly for the
tech. This is the third day I have failed, confidence in

is it normal for a cat to act "out of it" after being given the FELV shot? One of the 14 we took last night acts like he isn't feeling well. Any help would be appreciated.
Linda,
Thanks for doing this! This is good information for
us to have. I will 'log' this email for future
reference. I still think it's very interesting that
they do intramuscular injections. It's the first I've
ever heard of it.

Thanks Phaewryn. I'll happily to mail to anyone on the list who thinks
they can use it. Otherwise I'll see if a shelter wants it. Kerry

Cats get sick all the time. Getting sick doesn't have anything to do with
FELV. When a human gets a cold, we don't assume they have AIDS and refuse to
give them any cold medicine, do we? The same applies to cats. FELV is far,
far, far, way totally far, from the ONLY thing that can lead to illness
You mean the FELV VACCINE? Yes, perfectly normal. The vaccine has a high
incidence of bad reactions, including causing TERMINAL CANCER in as many as
1 out of every 1000 cats it is given to. What was the brand and specific
name of the FELV vaccine your cats were given? Some brands have different
Thank you Leslie :) Lots of info there for me.

*You're very welcome! I dismissed it when I first saw it... until I saw
someone else that tried it and said (much to my surprise) that it worked!
So I bookmarked it... Good luck! And let us know if it does work!!*

Hi Leslie Del,
That was me, here is the link to my original message, basically you
just put anywhere from 2 to 5 or 6 clothes pins on the scruff of the
neck. Fred still tried biting, but he couldn't reach me with them on.
He's very good now, only needed to do that for a week or so.
Thanks for posting that Leslie, I couldn't find my bookmarked link.
