Hey Group,
I'm seeing an interesting pattern [0][1] where we allocate 1 byte in places
where I would expect no allocation to be necessary. Why is this being done?

I don't like forks, but it looks like this is the only way to do this.

In this patch I made the following changes:
- Added the missing file /tests/ref/fate/display
- Now the program prints integers to avoid different results on different
platforms.
