I seem to remember a plugin which would add the pitch names above
notes, but can't find it.
Anyone any ideas?

While working , halfway, in the copy of a score, all of the sudden i got
a system crash - a lot of white text, messages, over black strips, which
forced me to restart the machine. When I tried to open the file again I
wasn't able to, instead I got the message while

Well, I seemed to have fixed it. In MIDI Setup | SoftSynth Settings, I
changed Output Source from Primary Sound Driver to Aureal Audio (which is
my actual sound card). Now all works fine. I can reproduce the latency by
switching back to Primary Sound Driver.

Unfortunately, I don't think the file is salvageable but what
happened here sounds like a kernel panic. What you describe is
specifically a kernel panic in either 10.0 or 10.1 During the panic
corrupt data was most likely written to the file.
The best fix is prevention as Noel
