If it's any consolation, my computer freezes about once a month when
quitting MacFin07. I get the Mac equivalent of the Blue Screen of Death.
I don't have any definite correlating factors, but it may be

On the possibility that Finale is actually messing up (crashes do
seem to be more prevalent in 2007-2008) try moving your Finale 2007

I never see it again in my whole life?
Every time I print an extracted part (2-up on ledger size paper) the

The change I make to the width of the block rest does not SAVE, either.
I tried closing the document, opening it again, and printing, but I saw that the edit was
undone for me.
Please tell me what to do to make that edit stick!

I have the same question PLUS ANOTHER involving print
WinFin 2008, XP pro, etc.
I am doing exactly as Andrew is doing--2 up on ledger size.
BUT: I increase the width of a block rest to accomodate the instruction above
it (Andante Moderato qn=68).
I save.
Then I go to print.
THE WIDTH I
I believe on the Mac it's a unix shell. type exit, all in lower

Guilty of not editing the message before hitting send.
You type exit to get out of the shell.

I know that Boot Camp repartitions the drive. What I was trying to say

We have lost so many great musicians this year. Herb Pomeroy passed
away last Saturday. Besides being a great trumpet player and
bandleader, he was a tremendous jazz educator, both at Berklee and

Being a iMac Parallels user, I run my Windows off a Boot Camp partition.
Things generally seem to run a lot better that way. I have YET to have a
crash running it. I had, for a while, Finale 2006. That worked fine. I
currently use it to run Band in a Box 2007 with Garritan Jazz. Works
Hmm, my home Mac, a upgraded QuickSilver 2002 with a Dual G4 in it now,
doesn't have any issues like what you describe. I don't run two versions

the same time, and they seem to get along well.
Perhaps both versions are

1) The Kontakt Player 2 update for Garritan Jazz And Big Band has

would set up some way of notifying his customers when upgrades are
released.)
This upgrade finally makes it possible for Intel Mac

I don't see anything later than 2.2.3.
It's been out for a while.

It's a later one -- version 2.2.3.003. It's the first update to bring
JABB to the Kontakt 2 player.

It was released a month ago (July 19, 2007), but I don't recall there
being any mention of it on the list. I only found out about it myself
just now. I think the last time I checked was around July 15 or so.
Again, it would be really nice if Gary had some method of alerting
his customers
