In Finale 2008, how do I insert a group of measures into a file and include
the time signature changes? I used to be able to do this easily in 2007 and
before, but can't seem to figure out how to do it using the improved mass
edit-selection tool in 2008.
Here's the situation: I get a MIDI file
Sorry to trouble you all with this but I'm lost.
I have just bought a new computer and have installed Winfin 2006 on it.
Could someone please remind me how to:
a) get rid of the blue triangle at the left hand side of the screen
b) tell Fiale where to look for GPO (it isn't shown as an
Does anyone know the phone number to register Finale in the UK - the system
won't let me register online and the phone number provided by the Registration
Wizard is un-obtainable.

Hi Lawrence,
As far as I know, Finale has to be registered through their headquarters in
the US. Contact MakeMusic at www.finalemusic.com/support
I have had to contact them (by phone) and found them to be quick and
helpful. Although it required a long distance call, it was quite cheap after
6pm.

I'm writing a piece which uses groupings of 3+2+3

and got finale to display it as 4/4. However when I
enter eighth notes using speedy entry there are no
beams ,unless of course I use the forward slash. I've
tried the rebeam

I need a quick help.
I totally forgot how to place 2 same-pitched note heads on the both
sides of a stem. I hope I don't need to place a note head as an
expression/articulation object. I remember there was a way but can't
remember. Any help would be appreciated.

Hiroaki Honshuku,
Enter any interval, drag one of the noteheads up (or down), it will flip
to the other side of the stem.

Correction: I should have said: 1.5 + 1 + 1.5. Sorry!

Hiro -
If you enter a note a 2nd above/below the existing pitch, you can
then drag it into place and have 2 noteheads on the unison.

I'm relatively new to finale here--simple actions such as pressing the
left/right arrows to change which note is selected exhibit a major delay
(1-2 seconds). So, if i press 'right' five times to move five notes over i
then sit and wait for awhile while the selection makes the journey... Are
Thanks very much - that sounds more attractive than phoning America.

In older versions, you had to enter EDU values. In your example, you should

Hey all,
Never mind, I figured it out.
For the curious:
First enter the figure as regular quarter notes and eighth notes.
Next, for the bars with partial tuplets, create a 4 quarters in the
space of 6 quarters tuplet over the entire bar. This turns all
quarter notes in the measures into

Thanks, Michael.
In Finale 2007 and before, you can open a source file, select any single
staff with the mass mover, copy it to the clipboard, open a destination
file, select a single measure on any staff, choose Insert from the Edit
menu, and Finale will insert the entire measure stack - time
