You go to Edit Categories (aka Category Designer), select the category, and
edit a Score List at the bottom. They chose to default to only the top staff
for this category as that's more often how it's used.

Ok, I haven't run across this one before:
I have a long piece with 8 staves per system and, until today, two
systems fit well on one page. Now, suddenly, the systems are arranged
in Page View as follows:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | etc.
2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
that is, each system appears _twice, once at the

The symbol on the reimported MusicWML file certainly suggests this.
But how _does_ one make a page break between systems (I've just

Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the chance to show that my memory has not completely
Yes, there too (I just learned), but also (inside a small page icon

Ah, but did you Update Layout while you were on the FIRST page? Finale only
updates layout from the page you are on until the end. In some cases if the
scroll bar is only nudged a bit right, then update is only from page 2, so hit
Home.

thta is strange, sounds like a case of update layout not being
performed, the page break should NOT cause this.

I guess this is more of a Macintosh question than a Finale question, but
given the experience of users on this list, I'm sure someone has the answer.
I finally started using Finale 2010. However, I still have a few straggling
projects that I want to finish in 2008. Is there a way to get a file to
Not that I know of. That is the way programs work on Mac.
If you want to keep track of them, I keep all my 2008 files in one
folder, and all my 2009 files in another, etc., so there is no
question about which program created which file. Since I have all
recent versions of Finale in my
