Using the staff tool, double click on the offending staff and uncheck show part
name.

Just verified on my side (Finale 2014.5 Mac)
I created a new file from the 'Document Setup Wizard', score name and parts
showed up correctly; I also tried to manually insert a new score name from Text
--> Inserts --> Part/Score Name and added extra text to the score name: again
all names showed
Finale 2014.5
(These problems always come in groups.)
My old version of Finale used to create part names at the top of the
page, the new one does not. I have looked through the formatting
options in the part extraction but cannot find an option to generate the
part name. Is this possible any

Set up a text block where you want it to appear in the score (and the
parts - I put mine in the upper LH corner) and go to the "insert"
list in the text tool. Insert "Score/Part Name" and things should
work the way you want. Remember to set up the text block "Frame
