Great info Robert. I saw Don’s post on Sheepsaver and looked into it briefly,
then got distracted with other tasks. I intend to look much deeper thanks to
your post. And a big thanks to Don.

Sheepshaver docs say it also works all recent Mac OX versions through
 10.10, Windows, and Linux.)

Sheepshaver is a freeware PPC emulator capable of running Mac OS versions
7.5.2 - 9.0.4. It was last updated only a year ago, and the forum is quite
active. It takes a little fiddling to set up, but the instructions are
quite accurate and detailed. Everything you need is here
 http://emaculation.com/doku.php/sheepshaver.

 I am currently able to run Finale 1.0.0, 2.6.3, 3.7.2, 97, 2000, 2002, and
2003. (Those are the versions I have held on to. I'm sure it would work
also with versions in between.) All except 1.0.0 produce useful results.
That is, I can generate Postscript listings that I can convert to PDF
inside OSX. (To be able to get useful results out of 1.0.0 I would have to
change all the font settings in my 1.x docs from Petrucci 71 to Petrucci
24, and I don't have enough 1.x files to bother with it. Also, I think
there was an update before v2, and I don't have that.)

Anyway, I thought other old-time Finale users might be interested that this
is still possible in 2015, going on 30 years after the release of 1.0.0.

[Finale] copyist

2015-02-04 Thread Vivian Adelberg Rudow
Hi All,

So far I have seen only one response to my copyist request as the digest did
not post to my e-mail address.
vadelbergru...@comcast.net

I've switched to the non digest list, hoping that will open up the
communication. If anyone replied to me before, please reply again. Thanks

Original request:
I am looking for a copyist who can work in Finale 2012 and would like to input
revisions for me.

I have an old orchestra and chorus score which I tried to revise but found it
too difficult.

I created Sibelius pages with the changes I wanted (it can also be in PDF) and
these changes now need to be put into Finale.

I'll need score and parts changed.

Looking forward to hearing from someone about experience, samples, fee and
time.

Thanks

Vivian

[Finale] copyist clarity

2015-02-04 Thread Vivian Adelberg Rudow
In my request for a copyist, I should have mentioned the music is for orchestra
with chorus.

Inserting different lyrics was too difficult for me. The copyist needs to know
the tricks of inserting lyrics. And be able to negotiate between changed
orchestra parts in places.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
