If you have OS 10.3, check out FontBook. Its sort of an ATM-ish thing built right into the OS. We added some support for it in Finale 2005.
Otherwise, youll want to investigate something like Extensis Suitcase.

Is this the first bug report for FinWin 2005a?
Twice, in two unrelated files, Finale has added quite a number (hundreds
in one case, I didn't check in the other) of phantom extra bars at the
end of my file. One file was a 200 measure full orchestra file I had
started in Finale 2004, (or

Yeah - it's sort of limited, but I did have a friend here set up a balanced instrument file template which I used for a while in earlier versions. It worked alright in changing the Finale default instrument balances, which are not always correct (the piano is usually too loud in

It may be possible to remove the MM rest shape from the spot in which it appears in the shape selection window and replace it with a new shape copied from another place. At least I'd try this in one document to see if that solved the problem.

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately, that's no good, because (A) all of the dynamic

Hello Darcy - it is quite simple to balance instruments in Finale - perhaps not
as simple as a mixer, but not at all difficult.
You need to understand there are three ways in which the amplitude of a note can
be manipulated in MIDI. The most simple to understand is the KEY VELOCITY,

Thanks for the tip. You're right, it's *not* as easy as a mixer, but
it's better than using the MIDI tool, and it will do for now.
Thanks,

Sheesh! Dont be
too greedy. With Word and Finale you have two high end programs that each work

Is there a significant (or indeed any) advantage as far as Finale is
concerned in dual as opposed to single processor G5 Macs?

Garage-Key also has a stand that lets the computer keyboard nest

Hi Peter,
Your method does not appear to be compatible with Human Playback, even
when setting the Human Playback options to Incorporate MIDI Data.
Creating an expression which sets the Channel Pressure to zero has no
effect. This is using the Finale sound font.
