You are of course correct, but it is even less comprehensible why
instruments are loaded when leaving the wizard.
The fundamental problem
I have begun a new (my first) project in 2006b, and have experienced
crashes. I entered about 8 measures of the piece (2 oboes, 2 trumpets,
timpani, 2 violins, viola, cello - the trombone and voice parts dont
enter for another several measures).
I'm using the GPO instruments in the setup
It occurred to me that there might be an email list, or newsgroup
targeted at small publishers, giving them a forum on which to discuss
issues ranging from hardware and software selection, to intellectual
proporety issues, to marketing, but when I went to look for such a

My wife, who is an accomplished pianist, bought one of those roll-up
keyboards thinking it would save trucking around the current portable
keyboard that she has.
After a week, she sent it back and got a refund.

I've had great luck with the Edirol PCR-1 - you can choose one that acts as a MIDI controller or an audio interface (RCA Optical). It's light, thin, 25-key, easy to use and plug in (USB) and transportable - I wrote my dissertation (30-min. ballet) on it sitting in coffeeshops all over Austin.
As a followup to my earlier post today about 2006b on my Mac quitting
when I try to re-open a file and play it, more specifically here's what
happens when I click on play:
2 or 3 of the GPO sound patches are loaded, then I get a dialogue box
which says Unhandled exception caught, then Finale
I get that message when launching Finale on my laptop because the Digi Core Audio application for Pro Tools LE trying to launch at the same time. Do you have any other digital audio software on your computer? There could be a conflict.

Hi,
I just started my first GPO (bigband) project in Finale. The sounds
are fine, but, boy, you have to wait a long time for the sounds
getting loaded. And the next time I opened the project, the same again.
I guess I will have to use the smart music synth unless I really need
good sounds
Yes, I am on a Mac, and yes, I am familiar with the dialogue box one
gets that asks if you want to report the error to Apple. However, I am
NOT getting this dialog box each time Finale 2006b quits on me, so I
have nothing to send you to look at.

No solutions, but I thought I'd report that the same thing happened

I've had two issues with the lyrics tool in the last few days.1) When smart hyphens is checked, no hyphens are to be seen at all.2) 2004 files with lyrics open in 2006b without lyrics. They are gone! opening the same file with 2006a is ok, but do I want to revert to 2006a? NO!Can others replicate

I haven't heard any feedback about it. I haven't seen the example file
emailed from the Finale List either.
I've looked at Mr. Duncan's new font, the Jazz Articulations one, and it
looks great. He's on the right track.
