I just experienced about a half dozen successive crashes of Finale
Mac 2k8. Here's what produced them:
Working on a document created from a 2k8 template (a big band chart),
I was copying 32 measures of slashes over hidden rests and the
accompanying chords (from the piano part) vertically
I know there are composers and arrangers who work with show orchestras
on this list so I hope someone can give me some suggestions. I'm adding
2 violins, 2 cellos and a viola to my jazz quartet and need to amplify

Well it sounds like a linguistic variation on Sordini- so maybe muted- or
