Speaker setup… to see that the controller is recognized. Usually it is and
going through this step re-establishes the midi controller.

Yes, make a new staff style for your slashes (ie. Hi Slash). After setting up
the slashes in the alt notation section, in the staff set-up, changing the stem
reversal numbers will move the slashes vertically. For instance, changing -4 to
-2 will raise the slashes by a 3rd.

to automatically change a great quantity of Db4 into their
enharmonic equivalents C#4 on a melodic line, without affecting all other
notes on the staff?

is from a Finale 2006 file, upconverted and revised. (The old
score still does the PDF correctly, by the way.)
Any ideas at all? Same file, PDF fine on my machine, not on his.

Looks like 2009 was the last version that could import Encore files
directly. Should be simple enough to ask someone to do the conversion
in an older version Finale and then open it in 2010.
