It compiled
clean install of 10.3. Clean fink install, selfupdated this
morning, about seventy packages installed. I type fink
install emacs21-xaw3d and it seems to configure compile and
then some stuff happens that I don't recognize, it
evenutally hangs with:

Note that you can run quartz-wm in proxy mode where all it does is
synchronize the clipboards:
quartz-wm --only-proxy
