Hello,
sorry if this is trivial... I moved to 10.3 but fink is still updating
stuff in 10.2-gcc3.3. How do I tell it to move to the 10.3 directory? Can
I just edit /sw/etc/fink.conf and change 10.2-gcc3.3 to 10.3, or there is
a more elegant and automatic way to do that? Thanks a lot in

Hello,
it's me again, sorry. I have upgraded to 10.3 and now fink thinks that
to install emacs21 it ahs to install xfree86. I think that it does not
recognise the system-installed apple X11. However it thinks also that it
has installed system-xfree86 (is this the apple one?), but cannot use
I have the same problem that you describe and I cannot get Gnumeric to
print either. When I need to print, I save the spreadsheet as .xls,
then open it in Open Office which prints fine.
I don't think that is the solution you want, but in case of emergency,
it works for me.

I can report seeing the same thing, but haven't been able to find a
solution yet (which is why I didn't reply!).
The error appears to be within gnome-print itself rather than a
particular printer setup, since I was also unable to print to a PDF or
postscript file, either.

Hello,
How do I list a dependency tree for a particular application?
Example:
If I want to install 'vim', how do I see what are packages regarded to
already have installed or to install?
Thank you,

Hi,
Is there a problem with selfupdate using rsync? I haven't seen new info
files in about 2 days, for instance the new xfree86 and kde. I tried
changing mirrors with fink configure, but that didn't help, one mirror

I've had the same problem--using CVS update brings in the files, and
switching back to rsync takes them away again.

Hi,
kdebase3-, kdebase3-shlibs-3.2.1-21 failed to build, due to the
following problem.
After the prompt at the last line, nothing (y or n) helps to make
it work. :-(
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Hi
Updating to Panther got me past a previous dpkg update problem related
to gzip. I have no idea how. I now have another problem. I'm running
10.3.2 and trying to go from dpkg 1.10.9-4 to 1.10.9-50. This time, on
running install via finkcommander, the compile fails with the following

I am running the latest version of OS 10.3 (panther).
I just installed the most recent version of fink.

Because I couldn't get a 'good' install of Koffice, I uninstalled fink
and started over.
The installation (took days) looks complete with all installed
components showing as current.
KDE starts okay. Koffice apps show in the Office Apps.
