I think I've asked this before and maybe I'll write it down this time ...
How do I tell what uses a package in fink? In this case ghc. The Glasgow
Haskell Compiler is huge and I know it's not something I specifically need.
Thanks in advance,

Hello Alexander. I had previously updated to The Captain with your
assistance and just now ran a selfupdate which ended with this:
install -c -p -m 644 fink.shlibs
"/sw/src/fink.build/root-fink-0.39.0-101/DEBIAN/shlibs"
/bin/rm -f /sw/src/fink.build/root-fink-0.39.0-101/sw/info/dir
/sw/src/fink.bu
The second selfupdate worked fine ...

I updated my fink installation on my 10.10.5 system and now when I do a
selfupdate-cvs I get a line that says:
? 10.7
I think that is CVS saying it doesn't know about 10.7. But I see a lot
pointing to it so I don't know if I should remove it ... or just ignore the
minor error.

The Fink apt package doesn't include 'rdepends' in apt-cache. I'm trying to
figure out why some packages I have installed were installed. I can't find
a way to do that but the apt-cache rdepends would go a long way to helping
...
Can we get that as an option?

Yes, but used recursively that has the unfortunate side effect of actually
removing some things. fink remove has no --dry-run option. Maybe I'll look
into writing something that will tell me what I want. If I do I'll share it.

I'm trying to build OpenCV 3.0 and it wants libavformat.h from either
ffmpeg or libav. I have ffmpeg installed but there doesn't seem to be a
-dev version and I tried installing libavformat56 and libavformat57 -dev
version but neither one installs any libavformat.h. Which was a little
unexpected.

If there is info online (I haven't searched yet myself) on how to do that I
would appreciate a link or two.

Ah! OK. If I remember I start it with "gvim ... &!" and that does what I
want. Or maybe nohup ... haven't tried that yet.

In setting up a new machine with a clean install of fink I'm running into a

After installing vim I got a garbled screen running gvim and this error:
