[Flashcoders] Flash Media Server Component Usage Survey

2007-07-12 Thread greg h

Do you work with the Flash Media Server? If so, the FMS product team would
like feedback on how you use the FMS
componentshttp://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/components.html.
Or, if you do not use them, why not. The product team has opened up a
survey at the following link. Please take a moment to share your experience
with them:

[Flashcoders] flash media server hosting providers

2007-03-15 Thread james o
can anyone recommend a flash media server hosting provider that
they're really happy with based on performance, reliability and
cost? a LAMP solution would be ideal but not necessary.

necessary technologies would be Flash Media Server, MySQL, PHP and
FFMpeg or another video coding solution.

an ideal solution would provide an out of the box video encoding/
converting solution. i.e, upload any video format and video is
encoded as a .flv

THANKS!
./james

I'm unsure why I'm getting an endless loop --

I've got each client's so.onSync checking for a change to the
applications.users array, each of which are added on connect.

But for some reason when more than one user connects, they both get
into this endless loop

It's driving me crazy. I've been reading documentation up the yahoo,
checking the sample apps, etc.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, but what, I have no idea.

RE: [Flashcoders] Flash Media Server tutorial not working

2006-05-18 Thread Aasim Momin
Vivek,

The tutorial did work for me eventually. The problem seemed to be in the
main.asc file provided with the example.
I had it replaced by the default one provided with Flash 8 in the sample
and tutorials folder. This solved the problem.

I am still using WinXP so it seems the problem wasn't OS related.

Thanks!

2006-05-18 Thread Vivek lakhanpal

I wondered how your FMS is working on WinXP whereas they have clearly
mentioned in their requirement specs that it will working on Windows 2000
Server or Windows 2003 server.

Infect one of my colegue got problem when he tried installing FMS on WinXP.
He had to shift to Server adition of windows.

Only Adobe guys can tell the differnce.

Anyway the point is it's working and you were able to run the sample.

Thanks

I think I remember this problem. Do you have all your files set up
in the proper paths? Like do you have the trike_final video in the
videosource folder under the applications folder?
Sometimes path errors can be a really common problem. Are they all in place?

You can download the source files from the link I put in my previous

Aasim,

Hi, I also did a little work with this XML file tutorial. I had a
lot of problems with it, in fact I received a response from one of
the Adobe engineers who said that basically, the code in that XML
tutorial was full of problems and should have been checked more
thoroughly before being put on line. Now, I don't want to discourage
you from trying it out. You'll need to post a little more of your
code in order to really diagnose the problem.

RE: [Flashcoders] Flash Media Server tutorial not working

2006-05-15 Thread Asai
I don't know, brother, this is one of those strange FMS/XML
things. I'd suggest asking this question on the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] list. That's where some great Flash
experts are. Those guys would probably be able to answer your
question better than me. You can search the archives on the flashcomm
mailing list for the following thread: Dynamic Playlist with XML
generated thumbnails. Some guys got back to me on it and it helped
a bit. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

RE: [Flashcoders] Flash Media Server

2006-01-22 Thread JP

My installation of FMS2 seemed to go well. (I chose the default insall
location and am just using the (free) developer license). I quickly ran into
the same problem however, but found that the built in Windows Firewall was
blocking outside connections. The other thing I found was that the max
connections limit was set to equal 1 in the installed Vhost.xml file.
(Developer edition allows for up to 10 connections). Once I changed this,
all the examples seemed to work for me.

ResourceLimits
MaxConnections-10/MaxConnections
/ResourceLimits

Hope that helps,

- JP

 Hi Coders.

I guess this is the wrong list to be talking about Flash Media Server.
But I do have serious installation-problems which makes the
FMS running and working, but the samples doesn't. rtmpt works
when set in the source-file, but rtmp didn't, and now neither
 one works.

Are there any great technical forums in which is for FMS questions?
-I have tried the forum at flashcomguru.com, but that had low
traffic and no help given from there.

You guys know of any good FMS-places?
-macromedia.com is good, but couldn't find the solutions there.
