Someone mentioned it is best to install the card into a slot that has
its own (non-shared) interrupt.
How do I determine which interrupts are used for a given slot?

You have to refer to your mobo documentation. If it isn't there, then
you will have to ask tech support for your mobo what interrupts
(devices) are using which PCI slots. If you do not have a non-shared
slot, pick one that you think will have the fewest number of interrupts.

I've been experimenting with CAT control of the SDR1K using Delphi and
something is not quite right. I can send say FA; to the SDR to get
the freq of VFO 1, and reading the COM port will at times return the
proper value as expected, however at times it returns nothing, then
when it finally does,
Brian,
What version of PowerSDR are you using? That is always a critical part
of any troubleshooting process.

Don't use the MixW virtual COM cable (don't know what it's called), use
N8VB's vCOM.
This may be the problem, failing that use Portmon to monitor the data flow,
this helps a great deal.

Hello Tim and Simon,
I am using N8VB's vCOM with the SDR on port 6.
Tim, I am currently using 1.6.3 SVN 693.
I've found the CAT command list, however an example of sending a CAT
command and reading the port for a result would be of great help. I
know the ';' is used to terminate all commands.

50ms is *not* enough, use 1 second. Think about it - you are the foreground

inside your PC, the poor old SDR console code is chugging along doing many
things. You'll have to wait longer and give it a better chance of
Dave,
I have a similar situation on 75m. I have a Gap TitanDX antenna mounted
60-70 feet away from the operating position. I have a 160m off-center fed
dipole that runs 10-15 feet above the roof directly over the operating
position (total distance about 20-25 feet from radio).
If I use the
Just got the Poor Man's UCB in from Wally.
Looks good. Had to slightly trim the corner on the parallel connector
to make an easy fit.
Nice workmanship too, makes my N0XAS conversion look .
He even included a couple of connector screw extensions to mount the
PMUCB firmly to the SDR-1000.

Hi,
One second before I declare the radio on the other end to be AWOL. Let me
know the programming language (I use C++) and I'll provide some pseudo code.
Essentially you read x bytes with a 1 second timeout, if you get your x
bytes (or a ;) inside 1 second then your loop ends. For more info
It has been a few years since I was a computer technician, but back then the
rule was to skip the first PCI slot (closest to the power supply...normally
shared with the video card slot) as this shared an IRQ. Beyond that I think
Tim is right (see MB documentation).

Simon,
Are you thinking of the REAudio drivers that comes with the RigExpert

No, I think there's a sort of vCOM solution available from MixW but N8VB's
is really good.

John,
If you have a linux server box setup, you could use this to run an SVN
server. However, you probably do not need it to do what you're trying to do
