Past a certain point in the tests it's doubtful that many would ever encounter a situation where the absolute best numbers in some categories would actually ever be noticed by the user. I doubt that owners of the Icom R-9500 will toss them in the trash and replace them because of these numbers. I

I have both radios now and used them in the just ended DX contest. I did lots of a/b comparisons. Let me tell you (from my perspective) nothing beats the audio and visual input to the brain. With the 5000 narrowed down to 100Hz or less, it was unbeatable. Phil K3TUF
