GA All,
If some of you are running MixW using VAC, how do you control the AF
level and thus the output power? Previously on my K2, I would set it
to maximum power, about 12 watts, and control the AF level to get an
output of about 5 watts peak. As I burned out the finals on one

Hi,
In Pre 14, I was testing power level and using companding and
compression in an attempt to increase the average power level. In
pre 14, the average power level is down compared to pre 12, because
of the new ALC. I connected an external audio generator and a scope,
but this produces a

I was using MixW last night, and I noticed that CAT worked all night
and still was on this morning. Good job fixing it. I can't get any
audio from the Mike when VAC is checked on. The VAC works if you
check Auto VAC, uncheck VAC and the mode is SSB. Note that you can
check both VAC
Chris,
I had a problem with it in Pre 13 because once I needed it. I just
tried it in Pre 14 and it knocks a carrier down about 20 dB. Seems
it could do better.

Hi,
There's an item that I noticed in preview 12 and also in preview
13. When in Setup under the Transmit tab, you have the ability to
define your own profile and save it. But when you restart Power
Console, the saved profile is not there any more.

Mike,
I haven't done it, but you need two things as I see it, based on
running two copies of MixW, HRD, or N4PY talking to two different
transceivers. You need to designate two separate ways to talk to the
hardware, and the only way I know of to do this is to use two sound
cards and the

Hi,
I have a 1 KHz tone on my signal when transmitting SSB. The 1KHz

Lee,
You obviously need two antennas and two sets of
analog components. Why don't you try the AmQRP
Soft Rock 40 as a second analog device? You may
be able to run two copies of Power SDR Console
from different directories. You should also be
able to run SO2R which may be of interest to

It was a cockpit problem. I had the AGC set on fixed and the fixed
AGC gain set too low. Once I set the AGC to any other setting, I had
plenty of audio. It really was not related to the Firebox.
