The reason that most transceiver control applications let you simply specify
Kenwood is that Kenwood transceivers all identify their model numbers when
responding to an ID command, enabling the application can determine the
model number on its own.
While it is true that basic frequency and mode
to notice that during a CW buffer full condition,
Commander is querying the transceiver about buffer status more frequently
than necessary given the rate at which CW can be transmitted. I have
corrected this in the next release.

I have a Micro Band Decoder. Is anyone using this with
their SDR-1000 or SDR-5000? If so please let me know how you
configured things. I am unable to make the device talk to the

Reloaded XP media center edition 2005 on my dual core machine. Got almost all
the apps reinstalled. The Flex 5000A is working great!
So, until All my hardware and software is fully supported under Vista I'll
stick with XP.

When shutting down PowerSDR I get the PowerSDR has stopped working error in
Vista. I know this is a known and reported bug. Does thye latest SVN fix this?

This has come up before and this was the answer given by Bob McGwier one
of the SDR programmers, quoted below.
I personally switched to the Eltima VSP and have had no troubles since,
it's been about 2 months now.

SVN 1433 updates fine for me but I can't run PowerSDR with a 1000 attached,

volume via the Virtual Audio Cable (VAC) rather than via the multimedia
mixer.

I agree, the SDR-5000 looks very, very good, top and bottom. Much better
I think than the SDR-1000. I was impressed with the plethora of
connectors, plugs, etc on the back. W8XO

Thats what I did too. It froze up after 4 sec. Deleting all and starting
over did it. I have had to do this two or three times b4. Just be sure
and re do all your port connections, settings etc. Cpu usage is way down
with this version. It also sounds clean some how. W8XO

As I said last night, it made a big difference here. The noise floor
dropped over 20db and the birdies every 10kc are gone. That is with one
of my verticals with no other tuning in line. The dipole does not have
that problem. On the vertical, with no tuning, WLW actually registers on
my SWR
I just down loaded it and its not working. The previous one removed all
the BC stuff, this one does nothing. Do I have to down load everything
again, or is there some bug. Being three miles from WLW I know if it
works, the old one worked very well. W8XO
I, like Larry, built up a new computer just for the SDR. I used the video that
was on the mother board. It went from 5-10% on my old machine to 20-30% on my
new machine. I then put in a $90 video card (don't remember the name of the
card) in the new computer and the CPU dropped to 5-10%.

Years ago I ran a plate modulated rig which had 5 watts of carrier and
about 300 watts of audio (W6QYT system) , it was very effective. As for
inverted audio, one of our bunch experimented with that too, it was
supposed to make tuning a DSB signal easer if you didn't have a
selective receiver.

same message about needing to update files.

Delta 44 and am able to work scatter and tropo very well. It is great fun.
Using a Down East preamp and 1K+ output into a 30' yagi.
The waterfall, panadapter, noise blanks and frequency resolution is the best!

antenna relay properly sequenced and you need a good directional antenna. (I
use an M2) Single conversion on 6 meters is unheard of but there are many

I have finally taken the digital plunge. Have down loaded VAC and N8VB's
comport stuff. VAC went quite well with Hamscope and HRD's PSK. However,
fiddling with the comport stuff caused some confusion and managed to
open a black hole in cyberspace. This black hole started a total memory
dump,

question that if the DC supply voltage regulation is not within .01 +/- volts
or better in stability, the frequency change/stability will always be a

This is confusing to me. My kw's big 112 volt ac clapper relay is keyed
by an ice cube relay (12volt dc at apx 50ma.). The (+) lead from the 12
volt supply goes to the bottom of the ice cube relay coil. The (-) lead
from the supply is grounded. I key the kw by shorting the top lead from

I believe it has to do with the database and the new dual receive
capability.
If you delete your current database it will start up and then
you will have to set up a new one.

in the audio. Any plans for the receiver EQ to boost both receivers audio?

No, PowerSDR was not running. I always do the update before I
start it for the day.
I agree, if they are in use they won't be overwritten, so I don't have
it running, and I usually am starting it from a clean boot.
