You can easily get a notch if you have the RX Equalizer engaged without
intending to have it engaged. Click on the equalizer tab and make sure
they are NOT checked.

It's nice to have friends with spare video cards
hanging around! I had a chance over the last couple of days to diss the Intel

We (FlexRadio) have made a decision to hold off on DirectX development
for the time being. This is in the interest of stabilizing the software
with the goal of getting to an official release. We were clearly not
ready for the troublesome launch of this complex new feature and will be

Hi Bob Eric.
OK. Here is what I did, just now to verify the reduced power with
Preview 8. I was really careful about making sure nothing was different
between the two setups.
Using a database from Preview 7, I did a Reset All to reset the DB
back to defaults. I re-ran the PA calibration.
I

This will likely be the last release of the year. It has been an
exciting year and we look forward to more excitement in the year to
come. On behalf of everyone here at FlexRadio Systems,
Eric, what a wonderful gift for the holidays! Thank you very much.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah.

Eric,
With Preview 9 in SSB mode, as soon as I modulate the signal in SSB
(upper and lower) and DigiU modes I immediately get a white box outlined
with a red line and a red cross in the middle. I also get an unhandled

Eric,
Same here. I was going to run this version without importing a previous
database but I could not get the calibration routine to get past 160
meters. I imported the database from preview 8 so I could run more
tests. I only get the white screen with the red X in the DigU and DigL
modes. In
To Eric, Bob and all those working hard to
bring us the SDR1000.
Thanks for Preview 9 I have it working well on Digi
modes with Mixw and now VAC 3.11, I'll see how that goes.
Thanks for all your efforts to bring us the radio
and the software, I can appreciate how much effort has gone into
Loaded P9 here. Installed OK, but when I went to setup in immediately
locked up. I imported DB from P8. I tried running FFTW_WISDOM again in
P9 directory. The program comes up, but if you click on anything,
including the Standby button, it locks up.

But it works in receive? The reason I ask is we have made a change to
fftw3 float sse. If it works in receive, it should be okay. Please
tell me your machine type (processor, etc.) again. Eric and I tested
SSB transmit to death this afternoon.

I was able to resolve my problem by:
1.) Deleting the database and allowing PowerSDR to create a new one.
2.) Run the Freq. Calibration, RX Image Rejection (from a freq.
Generator) and Level Calibration
3.) Run the PA Gain calibration.
Go figure?
The only anomaly I saw was that the RX Image
Bob,
Starting with a clean DB and running all of the calibration routines
seemed to do the trick.
When it was blowing up, RX worked just fine.

Ooops. That is a problem. I suspect that is a floating/double
conversion problem. Thanks. We missed that test.

Thanks Eric for your reply. Would be very nice to control the SDR1k via
touchscreen so I'll wait and for future power-sdr releases.
Leon,
I own sdr1k for 6 month now and I never had unwanted keydown or something
strange happening. My Pc and sdr are running 24h a day and even when
ac-power is lost
I take it back. The close in phase noise fro the 9854 on the data sheet seems much better.
But still one one analog path with a Johnson counter vrs 2 paths on frequency, which would be better? On 12/22/05, David Queen

Part of the reason the SDR1000 is so good with strong close in signals has
got to be the very low phase noise and that fact you only have on RF
source of phase noise.
That got me to thinking, has anyone compared the difference close in phase

You need to look at the phase noise of your counter and
Hello,
I started with a new database and beta 9 works fine here until I switched
the transmit-equalizer on: Error message appears with overflow error and I
got red cross on white ground in the scope window. Then I have to restart
power-sdr and switch transmit equalizer off. Then everything works
Sigh. This is not an overnight fix. The IIR filters were right on the
hairy edge, barely working right before. Moving from double
precision to single pushed it over the edge into instability. I HATE IIR.
Okay, sans choice, it will have to be done right.
