Disregard the below problem. I had a "conflicted" configure.ac. Deleting
that and re-checking out fixed it.
Now I'm going to try and build a flightgear again.

Hi David , actually the popup gps was more for testing so I could keep
it in the air longer I watched the values displayed. The intention was
to use the 3d one to change modes , etc...
But as usual I get too many projects going at once and forget what to
delete before sending it off. oh well ...

I discovered that easyxml has a size limit of
16K. Any xml tag must
complete in 16384 bytes:
