Re: [Flightgear-devel] Real-Time Radio Propagation, Was: Sqlite location
I'm not a developer here, I just maintain one of the mirror sites. I would like to comment here a bit. Over the years I've seen several folks who contributed lots to the project leave after disputes over one thing or another. I'd hate to see this lead to something like that! I personally agree with these points, and the final one in particular: snip Please consider that having realistic radio navigation according to terrain would be as far as I know a unique feature for any flightsimulator I've seen. To refuse to add such a realism enhancing feature would be quite illogic to snip I know you are a pilot, fellow amateur radio operator and one of the leaders of the project. So please don't say that you would refuse a realism increasing option, which would not even have to be on by default, and which is not present in any other flightsim that I know of. It would be illogic, and would limit the options of using Flightgear in other environments, like research projects, university, aeronautical radio. It would also make a discouraging statement vs. contributing to Flightgear. snip My suggestion is to include this feature, leave it off, and let anyone interested turn it on. [Flightgear-devel] FlightGear Display Location question

[Flightgear-devel] PLUG IN for glass cockpit displays
I've been using the project magenta glass cockpit displays in my simulator here for some time They at one time needed the Microsoft flight simulator in order to operate. I recently discovered a plugin that allows them to now operate with the x-plane simulator. I've long hoped that there would be a way to use those displays with FlightGear, and wonder if anyone has any ideas as to how that could be accomplished. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Installed, doesn't run.
My install of flightgear ran fine once the non-free nvidia drivers got installed (which was VERY EASY with Ubuntu. and which proved to be V E R Y difficult with both Debian and fedora). [Flightgear-devel] drivers
I have purchased a new Dell laptop which has an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3670 vido card installed. I've placed FEDORA 11 (32 bit) on it and downloaded Flightgear which fails to run. (I also tried the Fedora 11, 64 bit version with the same result) Problem is that the drivers that I have do not support hardware accel. I've downloaded what I think is the correct driver installation package from ATI, but after installing it I lost the video display! (What I have is ati-driver-installer-9-5-x86.x86_64.run .) I uninstalled it (with some difficulty) and now have the display back, but (of course) Flightgear still is inop. Has anyone had any luck in getting this card to work?
