I have a ATI M-4 graphix card that is indeed not the fastest available
but does have some 3D-acceleration (An Opengl TAB is available in the
screen properties (adapter, next advanced).

openGL question :-) It seems to be a cygwin related problem.

on exit should be changed in the propertie screen of the
_default file in your windows root directory. However this is
insufficient. After changing the cygwin.bat file into :
chdir e:\cygwin\bin
cmd /c bash --login -i
the problem is solved. Maybe something to add to the FAQ ?
