I know. Everyone here at Apache feels the same but AFAIK this is not
possible. In today's world lawyers still seem to be more important than
software developers. :-) It would be so cool, if IDEs would have the
ability to hide a licence at the beginning of a file.
Anyway, I can't give you a
Dear sir/madam of xml.apache.org,

document using xml and xslt, but when I install the application into a computer

I'm working with FOP on Windows XP and have absolutely no problems. I
suggest you contact your Domain administrator to sort out security
restrictions on your machine. This problem, anyway, has nothing to do
with FOP directly.
By the way, you should consider upgrading your FOP version. (not that
Hi,
I'm running the process as administrator, the XP Pro.
What version FOP are you running? I`ve upgrading the FOP version to
fop-20.3, the following message error appears:

0.20.3 is still a pretty old version. Download 0.20.4 or 0.20.5rc2. And
please read the release notes under http://xml.apache.org/fop/relnotes.html.

I;ve seen some clever pragma's/markers which let emacs do this.

Dirk, you may have seen my post on members, about this. The whole length of
license issue.
I find it odd that it's OK to suggest tools (IDEs/editors, etc) to hide a
license. When the argument presented to the board was presumably that the
long license is legally required.
I'd like to find out
Hi,
I've download fop-0.20.5rc2. and I've read the release notes but I've a

If I execute fop.bat from command line it works fine, however if I do it
from Internet Explorer 6 SP 1 I get the following error message: Error

Arved,
I don't see what's bad about it. The licence stays in every file as
necessary, the IDE should just as a service to the developer hide the
licence because it's not relevant to normal development tasks.

what do you mean with doing it from the internet explorer?
You mean from a servlet? or after browsing your local drives in internet
explorer?

Oh, there's some interesting bit of information: How exactly do you call
fop.bat from Internet Explorer? Strikes me as an odd thing to do? What
are you trying to accomplish? Or are you using a servlet and Acrobat
Reader has a problem starting up inside Internet Explorer?

sorry didn't see this one before..
I run fop-20.3 without any problem...

Ok
Isabelle, There is a property in the IIS5.0 manager that lets you geve
access to certain actions (run scripts execute all etc).
Make sure this is set to run all...
Furthermore, i would strongly recommend using a servlet. It isn't difficult
to set up (nice examples) and it will make your life
Jeremias, a deliberate decision was taken to frown on condensed licenses or
references. That tell me that there is a legal requirement for the license
to be in your face. So to speak.
In any case, the board was presented (I assume) with a legal opinion to that
effect. Which, although IANAL, I
