Heya Hedley,
So, you got rich as a TW and retired early eh? :-) Congratulations! You
didn't say anything about leaving the list, but you did mention burning the
bridges behind you. Well, after all, you've been on this list only 17
years (that I know of anyway). I just checked my archive (17.4K
Hi all!
After my tenth or so reboot this morning, I'm getting slightly upset...Well
especially after reading that FM 9 on Vista 64 is rock solid-bombproof.
My problems occur mainly when switching from tab to tab or scrolling pages. Do

Cheers,
Hi
I have been using text insets in my Framemaker file to make sure that
the same piece of text is writtten in the same way everywhere.
It seems that our translator has translated directly into the chapter
and not the text inset.
Does the Trados translation workbench not support text insets?
Hi Verner,
The text inset is just a frame file. It can be turned into a MIF file just
like the rest of your Frame files. It looks like the translator when in a
turned the text insets into text.

Thanks Richard,
A useful link. This appears to be similar to other Adobe licensing

Hi Roger...
Keep in mind that the DITA-OT and FrameMaker are not mutually exclusive.
You can use the OT to generate your HTML output, but still use FM for
authoring and PDF publishing. It's a bit of work to tweak the OT for

Thanks for your reply, and Nadine too. I'm familiar with DITA and will most
likely use that.
I should have mentione in my OP that there are two of us here, and the only
software we have at present is the single RoboHelp licence, so buying a couple
of FM licences won't get us very far.
