I suppose that you want to keep the French graphics in a separate folder and
not overwrite the same images in the English folder, right?
That would seem like an easy fix if you could combine them.

That behavior sounds as if you had pressed Ignore All missing files instead of
Skip this file.
I just tried it on my FM and it will continue to give me the missing link
dialog window for every image.

I think the French directory needs to contain all 100 files in order
for "Update Document To Use New Path" to work.
Too bad Windows doesn't have proper aliases.

Hi Nancy,
I would change the name of the original English image folder, and only link up
the French images at first. Skip the English ones. Then reopen the file and
link it to the original English folder after having changed its name.

Hi framers,
I'm using Arbortext editor and have run into a deuce of a problem with
fragments (file entities).
Is there a user forum like this one for Arbortext? I'd like to see if
expert users can help me. Please CC me on your reply as I am on

Without going into detail, I would find many of the suggestions *extremely*
useful. There are several issues raised here that I've had to deal with
resulting in a fudged up work-around.

Hi, all.
I am using Frame 10 in a Windows 7 environment.
I have retaken screen shots from our UI in French, giving them the identical
filenames as the English version and storing them in a separate directory. Note

Thanks, everyone! I took the suggestion to put ALL the original files in a new directory, then copy the French versions in over them, then point FM to the new directory. Now it finds all the files it needs in that directory and seems to escape the existential crisis it suffered before. Happy now!
Hi Kapil,
My wishlist is below. I hope it's not too late.
I use many scripts for most of the issues below. But
FrameMaker should be able to do this without external
help.

Without testing this I wouldn't make any changes in Frame itself, I'd
use the operating system.
1. Set FM up pointing to \TheGraphics
2. Set up \EnglishGraphics
3. Set up \FrenchGraphics
In production, I would either rename the \LanguageGraphics directories so
that FM is always point

I've changed the name of the English file directory so FrameMaker can't find those images. When Frame can't find the English directory, I point it to the French directory, and the fun begins (all the fun I described). --Nancy On 04/27/12, Jaime Zuniga wrote: Hi Nancy,I would change the name of t
