I've heard about using MIF files to extricate unavailable fonts from a book.
How is that accomplished?

converting our versioning application from Visual SourceSafe to TortoiseSVN. I

We just recently upgraded to FrameMaker 9 and are beginning to find
things that are a kind of inconvenient. One such issue is that when I
close all the chapters in a book, leaving just the book file open, the

I created a book with five chapters from which I generated a PDF file. I
sent the book to the company printer but they couldn't open it. We isolated
the fault to one chapter. The error message in Adobe Acrobat reads:
Insufficient Data and some fonts are not embedded.
I'm using FM 7.2

I've been a technical writer for about seven years and have followed this
list off and on during that time. I've seen references to MIF files but I
have no understanding as to their purpose or use. If someone would care to
enlighten me, who knows, maybe I've been missing
