My fundamental problem is that the new windowing model isn't properly exposed in the API. Also, it has some problems. Open a book, then open all files in book. Especially if it has many files, you get funny results -- the document windows nest within each other. I've raised this issue a

Speaking as a newbie, but also more than 40 years old, I really like the interface. The black on gray makes the menus and such usable but unobtrusive, and I like the fact that I can control the illumination. It's still hard to learn (I made a few stabs with FM8), but seems much improved to me.
