Hi Alison,
I love Lynda.com, but one downside is that it is a subscription site, so if
you let your subscription lapse, you lose access to your courses until you
re-subscribe. You should also check Udemy.com because there you buy your
courses and can view them any time you want. I am just

If you are already familiar with FM, then there's no reference book that I know

FWIW, I found that there was not a terribly steep learning curve for
existing functionality when moving to FM10. Some of the new
functionality (related to XML/DITA etc.) required some thinking,
though. (as should be expected).

My recommendations:
- Plugin for converting unstructured FrameMaker files into DITA: MIF2Go (
www.omsys.com).
- The must-have plugin for DITA authoring in FrameMaker: DITA-FMx (

We can help your colleague with DITA authoring:

FM has the ability to structure unstructured documents. See tha appendix in the

Assuming that the formatting in the fm 9 documents followed a consistent style
the transformation won't be horrible. The real work comes in building the EDD.

You don't appear to have any replies to this (but I don't receive all the
list posts, for some unknown reason).
There are several ways to convert unstructured docs to DITA. There is some
