Forward slashes still work fine
If you must use backslashes, try two for each occurrence. Framemaker, at least
in older versions, use to interpret the first backslash to read the second as a
backslash.

A few issues here:
First, FrameMaker is actually behaving exactly as designed when you type the
strings you mention. When you are in the marker window, you are typing in a
dialog box, and FrameMaker follows
which would break the links.
