I had a quick search but couldn't see that this issue has been discussed
recently.
I'm in the process of upgrading to FM 12 using Win7 in Parallels on a Mac Pro.
My question is simple: which is best, 32-bit Win7 or 64-bit Win7?

Go with 64-bit. I know of no reason to use 32. FM 12 runs fine for me in 64.

I will second Scott's recommendation to go with 64-bit Windows.

that the 64/32-bit question is the same for both virtualization options.

I've got a laptop running Snow Leopard with Fusion 4, and the VM
resolution adapts to the current screen resolution (1440x900). I can
have the VM windowed and choose a smaller resolution, or maximize the
window and use the full laptop screen size.
I also have a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard
