If the DateRev comes before the RevNum in the text flow, that's the order in which they'll appear in the TOC. Difficulty Creating a TOC
I've done this kind of thing many times to pick up the name and description of function calls from separate paragraphs in API documentation. It's quite simple, although a bit obscure. If your two paragraphs have tags Para1 and Para2 in the text, your TOC will contain paragraphs Para1TOC and Para2TOC. The key step to attaining what you want is to define the Para1TOC tag to be a Run-In Head (on the Pagination tab of the Paragraph Designer). On the TOC reference page of the TOC file, you'll want to include the <$pagenum> building block only in the Para2TOC prototype paragraph and also set an appropriate tab in the corresponding paragraph format definition. -Fred Ridder > To: framers at lists.frameusers.com > Date: Fri, 29 May 2009 11:20:42 -0400 > Subject: Difficulty Creating a TOC > From: ecidade at zoominternet.net > CC: frame2acrobat at yahoogroups.com > > Good morning fellow Frame Templars: > First the setup: Frame 7.2 (unstructured), Windows XP > Am attempting to formulate a TOC whereby I can display two paragraph > tags on the same line along with the associated chapter/page number. > Want to make it look something like this > 10-5. . . . .Revision 1. . . . .01 MAY09 > Variable Translation in Reference Pages: > -. . . . .. . . . . > Paragraph Translation: > -. . . . .RevNum. . . . . Re: Difficulty Creating a TOC
Since those are para tags and not variables, Fred's solution is also what I'd do. There seems to be another problem though, in the order in which the paratags are read in the TOC, because your example shows them out of order. To fix that, I believe all you need to do is re-order the strings in the Contents block on the Reference page, but you'd need to test that. *** You may want to make a backup copy of your TOC file before you start making the mods...*** Art Art Campbell art.campb...@gmail.com "... RE: Difficulty Creating a TOC
-Fred Ridder > To: framers@lists.frameusers.com > Date: Fri, 29 May 2009 11:20:42 -0400 > Subject: Difficulty Creating a TOC > From: ecid...@zoominternet.net > CC: frame2acro...@yahoogroups.com > > Good morning fellow Frame Templars: > First the setup: Frame 7.2 (unstructured), Windows XP > Am attempting to formulate a TOC whereby I can display two paragraph > tags on the same line along with the associated chapter/page number. > Want to make it look something like this > 10-5. . . . .Revision 1. . . . .01 MAY09 > Variable Translation in Reference Pages: > -. . . . .. . . . . > Paragraph Translation: > -. . . . .RevNum. . . . . Re: Re: Difficulty Creating a TOC
Art Thank you. Yup..RevNum and DateRev are both paragraph tags. the 10-5 comes from the chapter and page number.apparently, when I keyed those into my original e.mail they didn't appear (probably because of the dollar sign) but they track like this: - (imagine the dollar sign.LOL Eduardo On Fri 29/05/09 11:37 , Art Campbell art.campb...@gmail.com sent: Are RevNum and DateRev paragraph tags or variables? Re: Difficulty Creating a TOC
Off the top of my head, I'd suggest making the first paragraph tag as a run-in header. -- Lin Sims On Fri, May 29, 2009 at 11:20 AM, wrote: > Good morning fellow Frame Templars: > First the setup: Frame 7.2 (unstructured), Windows XP > Am attempting to formulate a TOC whereby I can display two paragraph > tags on the same line along with the associated chapter/page number. > Want to make it look something like this > 10-5. . . . .Revision 1. . . . .01 MAY09 > Variable Translation in Reference Pages: > -. . . . .. . . . . > Paragraph Translation: > -. . . . .RevNum. . . . . Difficulty Creating a TOC
Good morning fellow Frame Templars: First the setup: Frame 7.2 (unstructured), Windows XP Am attempting to formulate a TOC whereby I can display two paragraph tags on the same line along with the associated chapter/page number. Want to make it look something like this 10-5. . . . .Revision 1. . . . .01 MAY09 Variable Translation in Reference Pages: -. . . . .. . . . . Paragraph Translation: -. . . . .RevNum. . . . . DateRev However, here's what I get when I run the TOC: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .01MAY09 10-5. . . . .Revision 1 I cannot seem to align or "wrap" the two paragraph tags onto the same line. I used a "Next Pgf Tag" for the RevNum to make the DateRev follow it...but this one has faked me out. I can send the files to whoever is willing to assist.just putting this out there. Thank you and all the best. Eduardo ___ You are currently subscribed to Framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. Send list messages to fram...@lists.frameusers.com.
