Have you tried importing the page settings from chapter 9 into chapters 2-8?

most of our PDF files are produced with visible
printer marks (FrameMaker 8, Acrobat 9 Pro, Win XP).
In some cases,
pages will be trimmed irregularly like you mention it.
So when checking
the PDF file I always set this back to zero for all pages just to be
sure.
